Laser hair reduction

Preparing for your laser treatment

To get the most out of your laser hair removal please follow the below guidelines if you have any changes to your health, lifestyle or skin colour (tan) please let Saiqa know before your next treatment.

2 weeks before

  • Keep out of the sun and ensure the skin is not tanned
  • Stop any waxing, threading or other method of hair removal. Start saving the area.
 
3-4 days before
  • Stop using any active ingredients such as retinol, acids etc
  • Exfoliate the body and keep moisturised.
 
24 hours before
  • Shave the area. Ensure there is no hair above the skin
  • Do not apply heavy oils or moisturiser.
 
Day of treatment
  • Do not come with make-up
  • Do not apply deodorant if having u/arm treatment
  • Avoid caffeine
  • Wear loose clothing for body treatments
 
Aftercare for laser treatment

First 24 – 48 hours

  • Every 2 hours ice the area and apply aloe vera gel
  • Avoid – UV/heat exposure, cooking, hot showers, exercise, swimming make up, deodorant, perfume
  • Be gentle with your skin, use a mild cleanser and moisturiser (no active ingredients)
  • Keep lasered areas well moisturised
  • Increase water intake
  • Wear loose clothing and avoid scratching/rubbing the area as this can cause irritation.

After 48 hours

  • Avoid active skincare or exfoliation for at least 5 days
  • Avoid exercise, swimming, sauna, spas for at least 3 days
  • Avoid shaving the area for at least 5 days
  • Do not pick the lasered area
